SAMA Announces Opening of Applications for “Saudi Economists” Track Under SPP

The Saudi Central Bank (SAMA) announced that applications for the Saudi Economists Track are now open, starting Tuesday, February 17, 2026. This specialized track is part of the SAMA Professional Program (SPP) for both males and females. It is a qualifying track that grants scholarships to study abroad for master's and PhD degrees in economics by joining postgraduate programs.
An applicant must be a Saudi citizen, holding a master's degree in economics or a bachelor's degree from an accredited Saudi or international university with a GPA of “Very Good" or higher, or its equivalent, in one of the following majors: economics, business administration with a minor in finance, accounting, actuarial mathematics, management information systems (MIS), operations research, mathematics, statistics, quantitative methods, engineering, computer science, physics, finance and investment, or data science. Moreover, an applicant must have an English language test score that is no more than two years old on the date of application, with a minimum score of 6 in IELTS or 60 in TOEFL iBT (or its equivalent), except for graduates of accredited universities in English-speaking countries.
The requirements for acceptance into the Track also include that an applicant must be aged 25 or under for bachelor's degree holders and 29 or under for master's degree holders. An applicant must pass behavioral and technical tests and interviews, and must complete the qualification program held by SAMA during the first year of the employment contract.
Those accepted into the Saudi Economists Track will be given many benefits. The application for the Track will be through SAMA's website (link).
