SAMA supervises finance companies in accordance with the provisions of the finance laws and regulations, as follows:

• Real Estate Finance Law promulgated by the Royal Decree no. (M/50) on 13/8/1433H, and its Implementing Regulation issued by the Minister of  Finance’s resolution no. (1229) on 10/4/1434H.
• Financial Lease Law promulgated by the Royal Decree no. (M/48) on 13/8/1433H, and its Implementing Regulation issued by Governor’s resolution on 14/4/1434H.
• Law on Supervision of  Finance Companies promulgated by the Royal Decree (M/51) on 13/8/1433H, and its Implementing Regulation issued by Governor’s resolution on 14/4/1434H.

The General Department of Finance Companies Control regulates and supervises the Finance Companies Sector and associated finance companies, in accordance with the finance laws and regulations, including the following:

• Licensing companies to carry on finance activity(ies).
• Taking necessary measures to maintain the integrity and stability of the Finance Companies Sector and to ensure fairness of its transactions.
• Taking necessary measures to promote legitimate and fair competition among finance companies.
• Taking necessary measures for the development of the Finance Companies Sector, Saudization, and enhancement of its employees’ efficiency.
